CAREER DEVELOPMENT – WHAT’S NEXT FOR ME?

Lack of workplace professional development and career advancement opportunities continue to be top reasons why employees change jobs.  One way you can build employee loyalty and engagement is through career development.

Whether or not you have promotions available anytime soon, you should be talking to your employees about their drives and desires for their careers.  Many employees won’t feel comfortable asking about professional development and advancement.  And without open communication from management, employees often assume opportunities don’t exist.

Outlining potential career paths and development opportunities allows you to be strategic with your talent planning and prepares the employee for their next step.  It also helps employees feel heard and valued, and in turn, is better for your employment brand.

In this session, we will cover -

    • HR’s role in career development
    • Types of career paths and strategies, including which approaches may be relevant within your organization
    • An example of a career mapping process and important questions to ask employees
