    The workforce dramatically changed in the two months between March and May 2020, and it continues to change in ways no living person has ever seen. The impacts of these changes will be permanent and long lasting. How will you respond? What will you need to do in order to ensure a productive workforce in the years to come. How will you guide your organization through these uncharted territories?

    1. Understand the great 50 million person experiment that took place from 2020 to 2022.

    2. Describe the hybrid workplace and hybrid workforce, how we respond to it.

    3. Identify the needs of the workforce, showing how we are returning to the workplace, and how we can develop resilience for our workforce as we identify related mental health issues.

    4. Guide managers in developing collaboration in the new workplace and making recommendations for the return.

    About our Speaker:

    Alan Cabelly, Professor Emeritus, Portland State University, has taught and advised students, executives, and leaders since the mid 1970s. Teaching Leadership and Human Resource Management, he has spoken to diverse groups nationally and internationally at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. His leadership and insightful talks change lives.

    Prof. Cabelly is founder and Executive Director of the Portland Leadership Institute (, which focuses on Leadership Excellence in the 21st century. He uses the DiSC© system and other contemporary techniques for Executive and Leadership Coaching. He has spent the last two years giving corporate and professional presentations on Work Life with and after COVID, and has helped leaders Change Their Perspective on Change, increase their Focus to Improve their Personal Leadership.

    Alan’s personal mission is to help individuals increase their leadership skills and improve the functioning of their work teams. He helps people find passion in their work life environment, leading to greater individual engagement and satisfaction, and increased organization productivity. He truly believes that each of us can nourish the leader within.

    Prof. Cabelly developed the award winning PSU Human Resource Management Program in 1980, which he directed until his retirement in 2018. He has earned numerous HR Leadership awards. was President of NHRMA in 2000, Director of OregonSHRM in 2009, and currently serves on the PHRMA Board. With his wife Jean Benevento he continues to travel the world looking for adventure and finding extraordinary leadership stories.
